Emails found on the computer of Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of Hillary Clinton’s aide Huma Abedin, have led to the reopening of Clinton’s FBI investigation. The investigation will likely exceed the November 8th election due to extensive FBI policies necessary to determine if any emails contained classified information.
Since FBI director James Comey initially disclosed news of the email investigation being reopened, there has been much controversy and fear about its implications on the current election. According to former US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, “you don’t comment on investigations because commenting on the investigation may jeopardize the investigation.”
Many others disagree and instead believe failure to inform the public is misleading and deceptive. Regardless, this revelation has caused much uncertainty and possible repercussions for the upcoming election.
